Meet our Program:

Native Flowers

What is Native Flowers?

The Native Plants Program is meant for elementary schools to teach them a fun way to learn composting. They build small native plant gardens on campus, and run a hands-on workshop where students turn an egg carton from home into a planter for California native wildflowers and then plant it in their school's garden. Over the year, students watch their flowers grow, see the bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds that visit, and learn how a small garden helps the local environment.

Mission

Native Flowers' mission is to give elementary school students a fun, hands-on way to learn about native plants and pollinators, and to show them that they can help their environment with something they build with their own hands.
