For the month of July, Go Greenish Marketing Leaders Avi McCurdy and Izabella Li are leading the organization's Plastic Free July campaign.
Led by the Plastic Free Foundation, the movement is a shared global action that has inspired millions of people to reduce plastic waste through simple, everyday choices. The campaign encourages individuals to become part of the solution to plastic pollution. According to the PFF, these collective efforts help create “cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.”
To accomplish this initiative, plastic waste can be reduced by switching to reusable items like water bottles, shopping bags, and food containers instead of single-use plastics. Recycling properly and choosing products with minimal or eco-friendly packaging also helps decrease plastic pollution.
Throughout the month, the Go Greenish team is curating engaging reels and social media stories to encourage followers to reduce their own plastic consumption. For Li, the campaign is about helping people become “more aware about the effects of plastic on the environment.”
To date, Plastic Free July has inspired over 170 million participants across 190 countries. Go Greenish is excited to contribute to this global movement. While one’s personal effort may seem minor, collective action can make significant differences in communities. So choose to reduce your plastic usage for both July and the months beyond–you never know what a great difference it could make!.
