Behind every single project seen at GoGreenish is a completely youth-led team working to mitigate the harm that we have put on our planet. At the end of our most recent weekly meeting I spoke with three of our team members about their roles, and what motivates them to continue working hard for our organization.
Avani Goyal, a Finance Coordinator for GoGreenish found out about this organization through members of the team, and decided to join us this year. Outside of her eager participation in weekly meetings and general discussion of future initiatives, she helps with writing grant proposals, accounting, and all around general management of our organization's funds. Goyal specifically appreciates being able to see the impact that GoGreenish has made when traveling to other schools for presentations and watching youth get involved in sustainability.
Sophia Bottini, a Program Coordinator for GoGreenish was encouraged to join our team by her college counselor and has been with us since the 2024 recruitment cycle. As a program coordinator, she oversees all of the departments and ensures that the organization is running smoothly. Recently, she was responsible for making a video for middle schoolers about recycling which was played at our presentation at Earl Warren middle school. Bottini loves the diversity in the community
Dean Smith, our Executive Director originally joined us in 2024 after meeting Hayden Crocker, a founder of GoGreenish in an internship and discovering his interest in sustainability. Smith now leads the team by organizing meetings, overseeing day to day operations, and communicating expectations with team members. Putting aside profits and the statistics, Smith is inspired by seeing the impact that youth can have on our communities. “We’re still highschoolers, we’re still young, but we’re showing how age isn’t necessarily a barrier to our success.”
From its very beginning, GoGreenish has gathered passionate youth driven to make change in their communities. If this sounds like you, the recruitment cycle to find the next generation of our team members is always open to all highschoolers. Apply today and take your next step toward being a part of the solution.
